I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.
At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.
As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.
I’m going to be out of town this week, which means I won’t be able to get drawings from Jojo. Since we did your requests, and my requests, this week Jojo is going to draw HER OWN requests.
That’s right, this week Jojo will draw whatever she wants and post it herself. With any luck, we’ll get more Kim Jong Il facts.
See ya all next week!
So here’s the announcement I should have given a few weeks ago. When Jojo and I started doing this blog, a year ago now, we knew we couldn’t do it forever because at some point we’d start to run out of Super Heroes for Jojo to draw. We’d said at the time that we’d do it for a year and see how we felt then.
Plus, Jojo and I have started doing other comics projects together (last week Jojo was busy working on a new set of comics for The Devastator) and I don’t like hitting her with the”Draw Things Stick" more than once a day.
So here’s the plan: we’re going to keep doing super hero drawings but probably not every day. My plan is to do at least one a week, but we’ll see how it goes. But what we WILL do is (hopefully) finally set up personal tumblrs, so you can see other stuff Jojo’s been working on AND (definitely) put together a Remembered Heroes book, collecting the best of the last year’s drawings (plus some new stuff).
Bad news: less super hero drawings.
Good news: more other stuff. And a book.
To prove that “less” doesn’t mean “none” I am going to have Jojo do a bunch of drawings this week. We did your requests, now it’s time to do MY requests. This week I’m going to have Jojo draw stuff I kept meaning to ask her for all year and never got around to it.
Fun! For me! And hopefully you too!
