I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo draws Thor! So I saw the Super Bowl trailer for The Avengers yesterday and it made me think two things. First, that movie might be really great. Second, Jojo has not drawn very many Avengers. So this week we’ll be drawing the Avengers she’s missed so far, starting with the God of Thunder. There’s a lot wrong with this drawing, but also a lot to love. We’ll start with what she got right. She gave him blond hair, and a winged helmet. She also knew he has a hammer, and metal circles on his costume. I guess we’ll give her the cape, too. What she got wrong was, well, everything else. She put him in a shaggy caveman outfit. I understand why she did it, him being a viking and all, but it’s still wrong. She also made his outfit all brown/black, instead of red and blue.  Plus, she drew him with the craziest muscles she has EVER drawn. They’re both stuffed with potatoes and horribly deflated at the same time. It looks like his muscles have muscles, but those second muscles are dying. When Jojo sent this to me, she just wrote “nippleshields…..”  I think Jojo thinks those circles are covering Thor’s nipples. Jojo thinks Thor has six nipples.
