I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo draws an Alien from Alien! This week I asked Jojo to draw characters from Ridley Scott sci-fi movies, because I’m excited about Prometheus. It was a short work week for us but we did get “Lady in the robot suit” and “Doll lady.” Now we get to the greatest movie monster ever (sorry, Blacula). Jojo got the alien just about right. She did forget its tail. She also gave it praying mantis arms… and horse legs and sort of a parrot mouth. But she remembered its tiny mouth inside its mouth. And she remembered to make its head look like a penis. That’s what matters.
