I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo draws Iron Patriot. So this week accidentally turned into Red, White and Blue Week. I say accidentally because Super Girl isn’t supposed to have white gloves, and if she’d drawn Spider-Woman right, it would have been red and yellow. So let’s run with it. Here’s how today went. Me: “Hey Jojo, why not draw Iron Patriot? He’s when Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin, took over SHEILD and renamed it HAMMER and then started his own Avengers made up of villains. This was all during Dark Reign, which led into Siege when Osborn attacks Asgard, which was floating above the midwest and-“ Jojo: “I don’t know any of those words.” Me: “Just smoosh Iron Man and Captain America together.” AND SHE DID! AND IT WAS WONDERFUL! My only critique is that she gave him a cape. I asked her why he has a cape and she said, “Why wouldn’t he?” The answer of course is that neither Cap nor Iron Man have capes. To which she said, “Well, they both should.”
