I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo draws Garfield. So, while Jojo was in France, Noelle Stevenson (one of my favorite artists on Tumblr) did a post about how hard it was to draw Garfield from memory. This made me wonder how well Jojo would do. Well now she’s back and we can find out! Turns out the joke’s on me, Jojo knows Garfield really well, apparently. She made his mouth a little too small, but it’s drawn almost that size when he’s making certain expressions. She said she didn’t want him to say “I hate Mondays” because that’s “Real Garfield’s line.” So she tweaked it for her fake Garfield. Good work, Jojo.
