I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today, Jojo draws Captain Planet. We’ve gotten some requests for Captain Planet lately, probably because of that Don Cheadle video, and Jojo really wanted to draw him. The funny thing is, she got it mostly right, but she was very surprised that she did. When I told her the drawing was pretty spot on, she said, “What? He doesn’t really have a belly shirt like that, does he?”  She did draw him a little bit off. This drawing doesn’t really say, “Let’s all pitch in and clean up the Earth”, so much as it says, “Hey there Sailor, going my way?” And by “Sailor”, I mean “Lady Sailor”, because he looks like a lesbian.
