I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo redesigns Batman! This month, DC Comics is rebooting all their comics and redesigning/rebooting all their heroes (some more than others). In honor of this, or at least in response, I’m asking Jojo to redesign the members of the Justice League. Here’s what she has to say about her Batman: “If they think it’s cool that Batman sports a chain smoker’s voice, then i think the next logical step is him wearing those feet-shoes. Other improvements not pictured is the bat-U-lock stuffed in the back of his bat-belt for his 21 bat-speed bat-bike.” I have two thoughts about this. First off, I think the feet-shoes are exactly the kind of change some movie costumer would think is a good idea. I can just imagine photos being released of the new Batman wearing feet-shoes and the internet setting itself on fire, with geeky rage. Secondly, I’m interested to see where this new “not pictured” trend takes us. I’m thinking that tomorrow I’ll ask Jojo to redesign Wonder Woman and she’ll hand me a blank piece of paper and say, “Here it is. Not pictured is Wonder Woman.” Join us tomorrow and find out!
