I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo draws scenes from Catwoman #1.
This concludes Jojo’s retelling, based mostly on reading blogs about it. If you missed them, check out part1 and part 2.
There’s some great stuff here, I love Batman’s giant puppy dog eyes, and I like Jojo’s interpretation of the infamous “most of the costumes stay on” line.
Jojo was actaully out sick the day she drew this and sent it to me with this note: “when you’ve taken codeine, it makes sense to draw windows that way…”
Now that we’ve wrapped up Catwoman #1, I’d love suggestions on what real life comic Jojo should interpret next.

Jojo draws more scenes from Catwoman #1!
In part 1 of Jojo’s retelling, Catwoman was attacked in her home and escaped through a window. Now she poses as a bartender, is discovered, and fights her way out.
Technically, that plot is the same as the real plot of Catwoman #1, but the similarities pretty much end there. This installment has less gratuitous nudity than her last one, or the real comic but don’t worry, next week we’ll be seeing Jojo’s version of the infamous Batman parts of this comic.
We’ll also hopefully see Jojo’s version of Batman’s parts.

Jojo draws scenes from Catwoman #1
The new plan is to have Jojo draw her own comic every Friday, based on her impressions of a real comic (either from having read it or just heard about it). Plus for fun, and laziness, she’ll be drawing her version of the character, in this case her Catwoman, instead of learning what they really look like.
Jojo is aware of DC’s New 52, as evidenced by her drawings of Starfire, and she’d also heard that people weren’t too happy with the events of Catwoman #1.  She deserves some credit though because, unlike the real pages she’s referencing, her comic actually shows Catwoman’s face.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
This one is a little complicated, let me break it down:
It’s Jojo’s version of Catwoman, dressed as her version of Hawk Girl, trick or treating at Booster Gold’s house, who Jojo thinks is a can of beer (who is of course dressed as a pumpkin).
Now I wish I could buy a can of Booster Gold Pumpkin Ale for real. Someone make that real!

Today Jojo draws Catwoman.
The hit video game Batman: Arkham City just came out so this week I’m having Jojo draw Batman characters. Plus, Halloween is coming up and Batman is kinda Halloween-y.
This is a nice drawing of Catwoman and it’s obviously from Tim Burton’s second movie, Batman Returns. I like this costume, it’s certainly better than the one she has in the game.
The skin should be paler and Jojo didn’t do the eyes quite right. In the movie a lot of her face shows up through the eye holes. Jojo drew this like a cartoon character where the eyes fill up all the space. And she only drew claws on one hand, bur she’s a cat so I guess they’re retractable.
