I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo draws Colossus, based off this t-shirt! We’re sticking with Jojo drawing characters off of shirts I wear. I’m excited about this one because I’ve always wanted her to draw Colossus, but she had no idea who he was. She still doesn’t, clearly. She got his general shape right, and the coloring would have been almost impossible for her to glean from the t-shirt. It looks like she assumed he could fly, but maybe someone is throwing him (in some sort of reverse fastball special). When I showed her a full picture of him, she said, “Ooooooh, I see. He’s a mechanical Captain Planet.” So really, Colossus got off light. We all know what Jojo thinks Captain Planet looks like.
