I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.

At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.

As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.

Today Jojo draws Mohawk Storm! Actually, she drew this yesterday but the scanner at work wasn’t working… that’s why we missed a day. But it’s okay, this one was worth the wait. This week Jojo is drawing alternate versions of famous super heroes. This isn’t an alternate reality version, it’s just a my favorite way Storm ever dressed! Storm was introduced as a serene goddess-like woman, with basically no emotions besides “being scared of small spaces” and “not liking clothes.” Then she went to Japan, hung out with a ninja/samurai woman (I know those are really different things but in comics they’re largely interchangeable) and got a haircut. And oh what a haircut it was! She also got a new bad-ass attitude. She later lost her powers but continued to lead the X-Men, because with a mohawk like that, SHE DIDN’T NEED POWERS! Here’s the other amazing thing, Jojo drew her EXACTLY right! Every part of this is perfect. Thank you Jojo.
