I'm a writer. I read a lot of comics. My friend Jojo is an artist. She doesn't read any comics.
At lunch, she draws super heroes from memory. Her memory is not always very good.
As you look at these drawings, I can not stress enough that Jojo is a professional artist, and a full grown woman. It's important to remember that.
Today Jojo draws the final scene from The Last Unicorn.
Here’s the last unicorn comic Jojo and I did for The Devastator. In case you’re a monster who hasn’t memorized this movie, at this point the Unicorn has been transformed back to her true self, and saved all the other unicorns.
She’s now saying goodbye to the humans who helped her, and making it very clear that her time with them has ruined her immortal life.
Today Jojo draws another scene from The Last Unicorn.
In case you haven’t memorized every frame of this movie (shame on you), at this point the unicorn has been transformed into a human woman, and is living at the castle of the evil king who captured all the unicorns. The king suspects she is a unicorn because instead of his own reflection, he sees the forest in her eyes.
Then I added swearing. Because, you know, comedy.
Today Jojo draws a third scene from The Last Unicorn.
Jojo is still in France, so here’s some more sassy unicorn. Originally published in The Devastator.
Today Jojo draws more scenes from The Last Unicorn!
While Jojo is in France, I’ll be posting some Last Unicorn parody comics we did together. They were originally published in The Devastator, a quarterly comedy magazine for humans, which can be purchased here.
I like this installment because I always thought it was really funny that even though the man legitimately can not see the unicorn’s horn, she gets really offended when he calls her a horse.
It’s like, dude, it’s not his fault you’re magic and have an invisible horn. Chill out.

While Jojo is in France, I’ll be posting some non-Remembered Heroes comics that we did together.
This was originally published in The Devastator, a quarterly humor magazine. Click on that link if you want a hard copy of it, which will also have other great things.
Also for people who ask what Jojo’s art looks like when she’s not “goofing around,” this is pretty much it.
More to come…
